Colin Huang's net worth was $36.6 billion on Forbes' 2026 World's Billionaires list, published on 10 March 2026, which ranked the PDD Holdings founder 58th in the world. Since then the company behind Temu and Pinduoduo has had a hard year. Simply Wall St reported in September 2026 that PDD's shares were down about 33% year to date, and Bloomberg reported in January that Chinese regulators had widened an investigation into the company itself. A fortune this concentrated in one listed stock is only as current as the date printed next to it.

The two Forbes rows are one tracker, so the move from $39.1 billion to $36.6 billion, about 6%, is a fair before-and-after, though one row is a list snapshot and the other a dated profile figure. The two Bloomberg rows are also one tracker, but they come from different days, which is why they do not subtract exactly to the reported $14.1 billion drop. The Forbes and Bloomberg rows are not blended into one timeline. Bloomberg's own profile page also showed a figure when we looked, but without a visible date, so we do not use it. A newer reading, dated 3 October 2026, appeared in search summaries but could not be tied to a single named publisher, so it is left out too. Where Colin Huang's Wealth Actually Sits
Almost all of it is PDD Holdings, the Nasdaq-listed parent of Pinduoduo in China and Temu abroad. Bloomberg's profile of Huang credits him with a stake of about 25% in the company, which reported revenue of 394 billion yuan ($54.7 billion) for 2024. Huang stepped down as chief executive in 2020 and as chairman in 2021 (Fortune, 3 July 2020; Bloomberg), to conduct research in food and life sciences.
Because PDD trades every day, the arithmetic behind any tracker's number is simple: shares held multiplied by a visible price. That makes his fortune unusually transparent, and unusually volatile.
What Moved Colin Huang's Net Worth Recently
Two things, both about the company rather than the man.
The share price. Simply Wall St reported in September 2026 that PDD's ADR was down about 33% year to date, pointing to weaker Temu web traffic, softer orders at two Shein suppliers and expectations of lower third-quarter earnings. Forbes' $36.6 billion is a March snapshot, so it does not capture price moves after that date.
The regulatory investigation. Bloomberg reported on 20 January 2026 that China had broadened its probe of PDD after employees and regulators came to blows at the Shanghai headquarters, with more than 100 investigators from agencies including the State Administration for Market Regulation and the State Taxation Administration carrying out on-site checks. The reported scope covers alleged fraudulent deliveries and potential tax violations by the company.
How Knowable Is Colin Huang's Net Worth, Really
More knowable than a private founder's, less than it looks. The share price is public and the stake is disclosed, so there is no valuation model hiding the answer, unlike Zhang Yiming, whose ByteDance fortune moved by $24 billion in a day on Bloomberg's tracker when a discount input changed. The uncertainty here is timing. Forbes' list prices everyone on one date in March, while live trackers reprice daily, so two correct numbers can sit far apart simply because they were taken on different days. Forbes' 2026 list had Zhong Shanshan, whom Huang briefly overtook as China's richest person in August 2024 (Fortune, 9 August 2024), at $68.1 billion, nearly double Huang's figure.

What a Reader Can Take From This
A fortune built on one listed stock is a price, not a balance. Huang's wealth moved by double-digit billions in 2024 on Bloomberg's tracker and has been moving again in 2026, with no change in how much of PDD he owns. Wang Xingxing's profile shows the same mechanism on a younger Chinese company.
Company-level headlines are not personal ones. An investigation into a firm affects a shareholder's wealth through the stock. It says nothing by itself about the shareholder. For live PDD pricing, see the asset page and the market overview.
